Ronan Heaney

Founder

Ronan is the creator of HuckfinnInvest.com. He has been a Quantitative Developer/Researcher for more than 30 years, most recently holding the position as Head of Research for Smart-Beta Equity Strategies at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Strategies based on his research and portfolio construction patent are used in the management of over $25 billion at Goldman. He designed and managed the popular ActiveBeta ETFs of which the ActiveBeta U.S. Large Cap ETF is the largest with ~$11 billion in assets.

He has published research in top peer-reviewed journals - Financial Anaylst Journal, Journal of Portfolio Management and Journal of Index Investing and co-authored two books on the subject of equity factor investing.

He graduated from Purdue University with an Masters in Computer Science where he was awarded a Fulbright Scholorship and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from Dublin City University, Ireland.

Brendan Heaney

Senior Developer

Brendan is involved in both front-end and back-end development. He has a passion for both software and data and a strong interest in data science endevours and is currently developing his own sports betting app with AI capabilities.

Most recently, Brendan was a software developer at Red Van Worshop. He graduated with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder with an emphasis on data science courses.

In his spare time he is an avid mountain-biker and skier.
